I took the four kiddos to the park on Thursday. For some lovely reason the two girls did not have any homework, so we decided a detour down to the park on the way home from daycare was in order. We are so lucky to live in Bellevue, our town has a number of parks all within walking distance (four that we visit frequently) so we discussed which park we were going to head to. Finally, it was decided we would stop at the Bellevue Beach Park (on the river), which is my personal favorite.
As we were walking from the swings to the amphitheater (to run up and down the benches) little Adam says to me, "I wonder if dinosaurs used to live here?" He picked up a thick branch from the tree and some rocks and tried to convince me they were dinosaur fossils. I replied (as is usual these days), "I don't know, maybe we should look up if dinosaurs lived here when we get home." He replied, "Sure, we can just go to Bellevue beach park dot com."
I laughed, and he had no idea why. There was no talk of using a book, in fact he just assumes that everything he wants to look up has a .com webpage. For the record, there is no Bellevue beach park.com, and dinosaur fossils have not reliably been found in Kentucky, but mammoths have. We are now considering a trip to mammoth cave (came up in the search) and funny, there is a dinosaur park there as well!!
