Ahh...da da da da.
TJ has figured out that his 20+lbs also can make noises. So we have entered babbling, and it is great. The other day at dinner he said, and I quote, "AHHH...DADADADA...AH." And the kids immediately lit up, "He said DADA, he said DADA." Of course I was excited too, and Adam was beaming. Then Ashley looked up at me in her most serious look and said, "He must like daddy better than you. That's not very nice." And she glanced disapprovingly at TJ, as if he were the one that should be ashamed of himself for not liking his mommy as much as daddy. I sat there with my mouth wide open, wanting to reply, "Nu-Uh, No way!" But somehow that only made Adam laugh harder!
Better than the last time...
I made pork roast the other night. I even said to Adam when I put it in the crockpot (my favorite invention of all times, I own two and feel like a third would be helpful), I have never made pork roast before, I hope it turns out ok. So I googled a recipe and away we went. We all sat down to dinner that night ('like a family' as the kids would say) and began to eat. The kids commented, "This is good Jen. Is it a pig or cow?" Oh how I love discussing animal carcass while eating. "Its pork." I replied. They all nodded, "Its from a pig." Then, Ashley spoke up, as only Ash can, "This is REALLY good. I mean you don't even have to chew it like 100 times like we did the last time you made roast. This time it is REALLY GOOD." And somehow that didn't seem like a compliment even when followed by, "You are the best stepmother ever!"
