So we got an aquarium for Xmas from a good family friend. We finally got it set up and picked out the fish. Each of the older kids got two, and TJ got one. We lovingly named TJ's 'Bob' after his favorite book right now, 15 Animals.
Laney's were Gabriella and Troy (high school musical, if you haven't seen it 10 times, you don't have young girls)
Ashley's were Sofia and Molly
Adam's were Speed Raced and Rex the racer.
And I say 'were' because, well, we do not seem to be doing such a great job keeping the fish alive. We lost the first one on Wed. I called home and my husband was yelling at the kids. It went something like, "If you do not stop looking at the fish and start doing your homework I am going to throw them in the backyard." Clearly, he had given them several warnings. Then I hear, "Uh, I have to go, one of the fish is in trouble."
I come home to find out that Gabriella got stuck on the water pump, and needless to say, she didn't make it. I immediately went to console Laney. "Laney, I am so sorry to hear about Gabriella." She replies, "Well, that makes ONE of us. Ashley's fish are bigger than mine and daddy said I could go and pick out another and then MINE will be the biggest!"
Today we lost Bob. TJ was interested in the fish, but luckily is too young to know why his is lying on the bottom of the tank. We will just have to get Bob #2 when we get Laney's new oversized fish!
