TJ and Emma: Part II

TJ was lucky enough to have Emma over for a second play date last weekend. Well, really Uncle Ben had volunteered to babysit, and I think when Aunt Kim's plane got delayed, he got a little nervous and called Adam. We were thrilled at the idea of having her. I have to admit though, I thought to myself, "I hope this goes better than the last time." And it did. See the evidence caught here on film...

What you might be able to actually see in the photo below though is, TJ was not sharing nicely his train with sweet little Emma, he had actually climbed on in front of her and was trying to push her off the back of it so he could have it all to himself. Oh well, more play dates with Emma I say, some of her lovely manners are bound to rub off on him!

100's party pics

The 100s party that was previously mentioned was a BIG HIT. I mean this went on and on all weekend. I am only sorry that I cannot post the pictures of when Adam got into the act and even arranged the pepporoni on our make-your-own pizza night pizza in the shape of a 100. We had fun counting, doing our times, adding and subtracting to get to 100 with all of our treats. And we truly did celebrate the 100% effort we have been seeing out of the kids at school. Plus...if you call IT a party, no matter what IT is, you pretty much rock as a stepmom!

The Snow

So we all know that it has snowed here in the southern mid-west, it has been the leading news story for days. Today the kids were all off for the second day in a row. I decided to take a personal day so that I could play in the snow with them. Let me be honest, last night Adam and I took TJ out by himself (the other kids were at their moms) and it did not go so well.

Complete indifference

A little startled that mommy plopped me in the middle of this pile...

To really upset about this whole ordeal

Needless to say, today was a better adventure to start out, however a few minutes and one trip down the hill with daddy and TJ and I were inside staying warm. A few times we were visited by another child who shall remain nameless. This child waited too long to come in to go the bathroom (I mean it takes TIME to get off all those layers) and had a little accident, not once, but twice. Yes that's right folks, I was inside and warm, but also resigned to changing diapers and wet snow pants...and not in a good way. Sometimes I think, '...only at the Ruschman's.'

Business

Adam Jr. as been spending a lot of time in the bathroom lately. He seems to have figured out (like his dad) that it is one of the few places where he can have his privacy. Today his dad was in the basement calling for him, and I heard him in the bathroom. I said, "Adam, what are you doing?" He said, "Well I was going to the bathroom, but then I found this hot wheel in here, and so...well...you know." Uh ok, get back downstairs and finish helping with laundry.

And again tonight...he knocks on the bathroom door. No one answers. He opens it, smiles to himself, and looks back at me washing dishes. He state, "Yippee...I can finally get some privacy for taking care of my BUSINESS."

If only the same were true for mommy.
