So Laney is my bluntest child. She is famed for her early proclamations of the life cycle:
"First you go to preschool, then big school, then high school, then college, then you get married, then you have babies, and then you DIE."
Adam was fearful that little ditty was going to send me into a deep depression after I had TJ and realized I only had one check mark left on Laney's list.
So yesterday she was telling me about what lungs look like when you don't smoke and what they look like when you do. She learned about it in school. All the kids were chiming in, and Ashley remarked, "and then your lungs could be black and may not work as well." To which Laney chimes in, "And then you DIE."
Which brings me to this morning. On the way to church I was taking a moment to discuss the beginning of Advent with the kids. "Advent is the beginning of the Christmas Season when we reflect and prepare for Christmas. And what happened on Christmas? That's right, Jesus was born. That is why we celebrate Christmas, because that is when Jesus was born."
To which Laney replied, "Yep. And then right before Easter...he DIES."
