Aim High
Tonight at dinner the kids were talking again about what they want to be when they grow up. Usually this is a favorite conversation of mine. This time was interesting. Laney said she wanted to pick up animal poop at the zoo. All the kids laughed hysterically because poop was mentioned. Then Ashley said she wanted to work at Great Clips. I said, "How about we think big...what is the best job you could ever have?" Ashley replied without missing a beat, "I could work at Wal-Mart." Really, Wal-Mart huh? I mean, I don't even shop there, much less want my brilliant step-daughter to ASPIRE to work there. Then Adam Jr. chimes in, "I want to work in New York." I thought, great, now we are getting somewhere. "What do you want to do in New York?" He replied, "I want to take peoples money from them, and then give them back more money so then they are rich." Uh...ok. "Do you want to work on the stock market, like a stock broker?" "Yes, that's it. You give me $2 and then I will give you back like hundreds of dollars!" Again...where do they come up with this stuff?
