Sore Loser

Yesterday my son came in the room holding the Candy land box and looking sheepishly at me relaxing on the couch. I said, "Want to play?" and he broke out into a huge grin. We sat on the floor and began the game. I took a huge early lead by drawing an ice cream cone...and he began to pout. I said, "Are you going to be a sore loser or a graceful loser?" He looked at me over his pout and answered, "A sore loser!" The game continued. Apparently one should not get too confident in those early leads, because no sooner than I was knocking at victories door did I then draw the dreaded peppermint. This card took me nearly back to start. I moaned and groaned and threw my arms up in disgust. "Oh no, all the way backwards...how terrible I have to go almost all the way back to start. UGH!" My son then looked up at me, got up off the floor, walked over and gave me a hug and a kiss and said, "Don't be a sore loser, ok?" Thanks buddy for reminding me.
