So, I pride myself on having clear rules, boundaries, and expectations with my kids. When we are on our way somewhere in the car we often go over, "Now how will I know you are behaving? What could you do that would be not behaving? etc" so we are all clear. Now, with summer upon us, the kids love to go to the ice cream shop on the corner (Schneider's--best ice balls in town). They behave great there...because they know if they do not, we won't go back.
Monday evenings are quite hectic for us. This past Monday I had TJ, Adam Jr, and Laney at Adam's T-Ball game. My husband is traveling out of town for work right now 4 days a week, so things can get a little hairy. As we left the T-Ball game (where we completed homework, had team pictures, and a successful TJ feeding) I was reviewing the expectations for when we got home with the kids. "When we get home we are going to get baths and get PJs on, then all sit down to eat dinner while I feed TJ, and then your mom will be here to pick you up in about an hour, ok?" As I was reviewing this for the third time (that no we were not going to be playing outside, and yes you can wear your PJs home to mommy's house) we were turning the corner by Schneider's Sweet Shop. Laney pipes in from the backseat...."Don't even tell me because I already know we are NOT going to get ice balls from Schneider's tonight." And the sad thing is...she was right. I guess I owe her one!!
